Charlotte is an operatic soprano currently living in Melbourne. Having grown up in the rural country town of Kyabram, Charlotte studied music in year 12 by distance education. Her performances were nominated for HSC encore in Sydney, in 2019.
She grew up performing in music theatre productions in rural Victoria and playing piano, but decided to pursue her love for singing and commenced her Bachelors degree of Music, Classical Voice (Honours) in 2020 at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, where she studied under beloved Australian Soprano Antoinette Halloran. Charlotte was accepted into Opera Scholars Australia in 2022 and performed with the program for 3 years. For the past year, she has been studying under the accomplished Berlin based tenor Florian Thomas.
Charlotte has frequented Melbourne Opera’s productions, performing in the chorus of The Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny and Lucia di Lammermoor alongside many incredible Australian artists, as well as performing in the Melbourne Conservatorium of music’s The Magic Flute as well as A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Recently, she performed the role of Euridice in Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice at Scot’s Church in Melbourne.
2 years ago Charlotte created Opera in the Country, a project dedicated to performing opera in rural towns, where she has grown up. She has successfully produced, directed, and performed in seven concerts in six different towns.
