Ripple Fest

Writing Collective

The Writing Collective, made up of creatives Christy O’Brien, Ange Tutty, Maggie Ellis, Karen Mills, Jenny Mustey and Pia Bonzi, is a group where each member brings a passion for creativity and the written word in all formats. Join them in both the Echuca and Rochester Libraries to play with words and unlock your creativity for Ripple Fest.

Rippling Story – is an exquisite corpse collaborative format where participants build on a story, one sentence at a time. Starting with the last sentence written by the person before, you’ll craft 50 words (2 to 4 sentences) that continue the narrative. With each contribution, the story evolves in unexpected directions, creating a unique, ever-changing tale where every voice adds a new layer to the adventure. Join the writing ripple in both Echuca and Rochester and watch how your words shape this never-ending story!

Sticky Stories – is an ephemeral art form that only lasts for a short time allowing participants to choose words (or even just one word) to describe nature-inspired artworks and our nearby Dungala (Murray) and Yakoa (Campaspe) Rivers. Written down on ‘sticky notes’ forming a visual display inspired by the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) Yoko Ono participatory project where visitors were invited to write their own reflections about their mothers. The Sticky Stories writing activity will be available in both Rochester and Echuca libraries.

These creative activations are free, simply drop-in to the  Rochy and Echuca libraries to have fun with words!
