Artists, Place and Creative Responses!
In the lead-up to Ripple Fest activations in May 2025, we’re bringing Echuca’s historic Pump House to life with an exciting artist residency program that blends art, culture and environmental awareness in a truly immersive way.
Perched on the banks of Dungala (Murray River), the heritage-listed Pump House offers breathtaking views of the riparian forest, just 200 meters from the water’s edge. Located within Aquatic Reserve and with easy access to Banyula State Forest and the Port of Echuca, it’s the perfect setting for creative exploration.
The Pump House Artist Residency Program invites artists across disciplines to connect with place, people and pressing environmental themes. Through a fusion of creative recovery, storytelling and cultural connection, these artists are reimagining the way we engage with our surroundings.
From February to May, 18 incredible artists will occupy the space, offering hands-on workshops, artist talks and community engagement sessions leading up to Ripple Fest. Their creative journey will culminate in an exhibition at the Pump House, launching on Wednesday 21 May, as the official opening of Ripple Fest 2025.
