Bangarra Dance Company has been running its flagship youth program, Rekindling, connecting with First Nations Communities across Australia, for the past 13 years. Rekindling inspires pride, kinship and a sense of strength in young First Nations people through a series of dance residencies with secondary school-aged students. Over the course of the year, participants spend time On Country, gather stories with guidance from Community Elders and develop skills to produce thought-provoking performances and events.
During 2024 they delivered the program in Shepparton and now in 2025 we are excited to bring young people from Shepparton, Rochester and Echuca together, in partnership with Bangarra andthe Greater Shepparton Lighthouse Project for a special sharing of stories and performance at Ripple Fest.
There will be a celebratory showcase of what these young people have been up to at the Aquatic Reserve stage on Saturday 24 May from 2pm.
This is free event, no bookings required, so come down and share this special moment with us!
