Join writer Christy O’Brien for a fun and creative writing workshop for lovers of storytelling.
This workshop is perfect for anyone keen to get their story out on the page and craft a narrative using Joseph Campbell’s Hero’s Journey as a starting point for their creative endeavours.
Christy is a professional writer with a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing from La Trobe University and former journalist. She will facilitate a workshop to help you shape your words to create a story thread that can be used for future prose development.
Follow your very own bespoke Hero’s Journey along this tried and tested creative path, which can be identified in many of the classics including The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, The Hobbit, Star Wars and The Lion King. The Hero’s Journey method includes, but is not limited to, your hero’s call to adventure, the moment they cross the threshold, face tests, allies and enemies and of course their final redemption, resurrection or achievement!
All you need for this workshop is a healthy dose of creative endeavour – no prior knowledge of creative writing is required – and a basic story line or idea that can be fleshed out during this 2-hour workshop.
– Participants must be 14 years or over.
– You are more than welcome to bring your own writing materials and some will be supplied.
This workshop is free to attend, bookings required!
